Day trips to the beautiful Isle of Tabarca are available during the summer from Torrevieja marina.
For the children there is a waterpark at Aquopolis with its river rapids and kamikaze slides, a theme park at Terra Mitica a fairground, safari park and a number of go-karting track. There are three superb par 72 courses less than 5 minutes drive away so it is an ideal base for golfers.
Within easy reach of Alicante or San Javier (Murcia) airports two bedroom apartment with living room, bathroom and kitchen furnished to a high standard. Ideally located within two kilometers from each of the major golf courses of Las Ramlas, Campoamor and Villamartin with several others within 20 kilometers.

Mark Lewis.
Does Mark Lewis hide himself from the public or does he just put his thoughts on that silly La Marina Info webiste. It seems he will not come on this very good forum and answer people or even put his points across. His latest rant is, is Jeff Wiszniewski getting a hidden salary. What concern of that is yours, you were as bent as a 150 euro note when you were animal councillor or what ever job you held. From what i have seen and herd the councill are just getting there feet and things seem to be moving along very nice. So do yourself a favour and join in on the forum mark and at least defend your actions. Its not like you got a full time job anymore.
Best councillor we have had during my 23 years here.
Mark was always available to us in La Marina, the single most hard working councillor.
I do not know what you are expecting Mark to talk about in here, he is no better informed than any of us nowadays?

Mr Lewis is not the one who needs to be on this forum answering questions, Mr Wiszniewski is but It seems now him and his overpaid employees have got their feet under the table us expats don't matter anymore. The only British councillor I have seen being underhanded is Mr Wiszniewski, Mr Lewis never employed family or friends in the Town Hall. Mr Wiszniewski is the one who is lying to us not Mr Lewis. As for his website then what business is it of yours to say how he runs it, have you not grasped the concept of websites!

Gran Alacant can offer you the best of both worlds. Those looking for a relaxing holiday lounging by the pool, a bit of tennis for exercise and a quiet meal in the near by restaurant are well catered for. There is however plenty to do for those looking for something a bit more active or fun. The excellent motorway network ensures that near by surrounding areas and attractions are not sorrowfully missed. There is so much to do! A nifty 40 minutes away by car (just outside of Benidorm) is Terra Mitica, a theme park to be enjoyed by both adults and kids alike. In Benidorm, nestling in one of its hills is the superb fun packed water park Aqualandia which is next to Mundomar the sea life centre.

Although nightlife in Gran Alacant is quite low key, it is by no means lifeless. Numerous bars and restaurants (and more on the way) entertain those who are quite happy to enjoy good food and a great bottle of wine. And for variety you may want to try some 'tapas' or even dinning at one of Santa Pola's best restaurants - Moniatos and Polamar. On the other hand, the near by city of Alicante (15 mins) has a bustling night life catering for every taste.
Amidst all the facilities and services in the area you will find; supermarkets, banks (with cash dispensers), Video/DVD rental, car rental, petrol station and even a local street market. And although we hope you will not need them, you will find doctors surgery, pharmacy and opticians.
A stones' throw from Gran Alacant, less than a mile down the hill, is the above mentioned Los Arenales del Sol beach. The beach is never empty. Even in the 'our' winter you find people running or walking by the shore. And although the beach is prepared for the Easter Break it is in the height of summer that all types of water sports become available. If your priority is a healthy tan, then a few trips to Los Arenales beach is definitely a must!
Lastly, although worthy of mention is the fact that the short distance to the airport makes Gran Alacant a specifically good holiday base. You can be in your holiday rental accommodation in less than 15 mins from landing! And I hear you say - "Aircraft noise?" - "No problemo - Gran Alacant is not on the flight path!
